Meet the '23-24 KQBA Board: 

Bryan Enders

Bryan started playing quizbowl at the Russell Independent School District and continued to play at the University of Louisville until graduation in 2014.  After a short stint in graduate school, he has been involved as an assistant coach at both Johnson Central High School and Russell High School.  He has been a KQBA board member since 2019.

Todd Garrison

Todd began coaching at Glasgow High School in 2011. Teams under his direction have competed heavily in both KAAC and Quiz Bowl events. Todd is very passionate about quiz bowl and has been responsible for multiple quiz bowl events such as The Scottie and The Jesse Brown Small School Showcase. Todd has been working with the KQBA Board off and on since 2018.

Kate Mastronicola

Kate was the coach of Meyzeek Middle School's Academic Team from 2014 - 2023. Her teams competed and achieved numerous successes in both Governor's Cup and Quizbowl events during her tenure at the state and national level respectively. Kate has hosted, co-hosted, and staffed numerous tournaments in Louisville. She is now unattached to a school, but still striving to be active in the academic team community. 

Bill Newsome

Bill Newsome began his involvement with academic competition in middle school and continued his obsession throughout high school and college. He earned his undergraduate teaching degree at the University of Pikeville (B.S. Secondary English Education, 2005), during which time he served as an assistant academic team coach at Pikeville High School. After teaching English and serving as head coach at Pikeville High School for one year, Bill pursued his Master of Arts degree in English from Morehead State University (MA, 2008). Since then, he has served as an assistant academic coach at Beaumont Middle School, Danville-Bate Middle School, and Grayson County High School. Each summer, Bill looks forward to working with academic team students as an instructor at summer camps held in Kentucky and along the East Coast. In 2020, Bill was elected to the KAAC and KQBA Boards, positions in which he hopes to help advance quizbowl and academic competition throughout the state.

Ramapriya Rangaraju

Ramapriya started his quizbowl career at DuPont Manual High School.  After graduating, he attended the University of Louisville and joined the team there, turning into a key member of the team during their greatest period of success.  After graduating from Louisville, Ramapriya has continued to stay active in the quizbowl community by being a founding member of the KQBA and a common reader on the state and national circuit.
